Our Team

David Knopf, CPA

David Knopf, CPA is the owner and founder of Knopf Co LLC. David is a Maryland CPA, an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor and tax professional. David has consulted with many clients spanning various industries on how to best use QuickBooks financial software. David also specializes in developing QuickBooks custom reports using business intelligence tools – such as Excel Power Pivot, Power Query and Power View. David is a tax professional and consults with clients to proactively implement tax planning strategies.

David earned his bachelor’s degree (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Memphis with a focus on Management Information Systems. He also earned his Master’s in Accounting from Baruch College of City University of New York. David started his career in 1998 working in private accounting – first as a bookkeeper and eventually controller – of a multi-store retail jewelry store in Memphis, TN. In 2003 David transitioned to public accounting and worked closely with a number of sole practitioners in New York. David also developed a successful QuickBooks consulting practice in New York after becoming a ProAdvisor in 2004. In 2006, David joined an established regional firm in Baltimore, MD before finally founding Knopf Co LLC in 2008.


Daniel Spetner, CPA

Daniel Spetner, CPA joined Knopf Co LLC in May of 2014. Daniel is a Maryland CPA and tax professional who is involved in many of Knopf Co’s tax engagements. He is also a Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor.

Daniel completed his bachelor’s degree from Charter Oak State College. Daniel then went on to complete his Master’s degree in Accounting, graduating with honors, from SUNY Old Westbury. To his credit, Daniel passed all four sections of the CPA exam on his first attempt.

Before joining Knopf Co LLC, Daniel worked in the tax department at another small accounting firm from 2012 through 2014. Daniel was responsible for the preparation of income, payroll and property tax returns.
